Not long ago I got into this interesting conversation with a family friend and somehow we ended on this topic: was Judas saved? This friend said he had done his research and had come to a conclusion but he wouldn't share it with me, saying that I should have done my own research on it.
Well the very next day I did... I started researching Bible verses on the topic and look up the original Greek words for some key passages and I also came to my conclusion...
Now I would like to know if you have an opinion about this topic and what it is...
Here are some questions to help you out:
-Does the Bible clearly say that he accepted Christ?
-Did he repent or did he just regret what he did?
-If he was saved, did he lose his salvation after what he did? or was he ever saved?
Please post a comment I am curious to hear everybody's opinion on this!
Hmmm that's an excellent question. I haven't referred to the Bible prior to this comment. Only Jesus knows that answer because all we have to go on is interpretation (unless God tells us directly, which I believe is possible). Another question is this: How did he really die? Wasn't there two different accounts of his death in separate gospels???
ReplyDeleteNow I'll do some research. Thanks for this question. I need to read my Bible more anyways!!!
Ok. I don't have an answer. BUT I wanted to say that i went to an amazing reading of a play (meaning it's a new play and so it's not a full production, the actors are holding their scripts and it is for the purpose of editing the play). Anyway, it is called The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and it was exploring the idea that purgatory is like a court room, and Judas was there, and Jesus was saying that he had tried so many times to offer his love to Judas but Judas told him to ef off and he was the one who gave the chance up to be saved.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, not necessarily Biblical, but the topic is amazing, and if you ever want to go to a provoking and controversial play, go to this one. It will have you on the edge of your seat.
